In times gone by there lived near the land of the False River a large and loving family who were the ancestors of the one who was to one day become the maw maw bear.
The ancesstors gave the bear a strong sense of belonging and of caring for others in an unselfish way.
The bear went to school in the city and gathered much knowledge of books of the ways of bears. She grew up and fell in love with a handsome, brave bear whom she married.
In their love and with the encouragement of the elders, the bears had three cubs. The female bear nourshished them with her laughter and enthusiasm and the cubs grew to be adults.
One day the first born cub fell in love with a bear and brought him into the family. As their life togehter grew, these two presented to the bear thier own first born cub- the bear was plese and full of joy and thus began - continues the Legend of Maw Maw Bear.
